Her Second Act is more than a film to me — it’s an intimate conversation with myself. It began with my brother, a stubborn cyclist chasing freedom despite the bruises, and a question that stayed with me: if he were gone and his bicycle was left to me, how would I live?

As my marriage shifted, that question turned inward. As a mother and a woman, was I still allowed to live for myself? I felt torn between being the “right” adult and the younger self who still wanted to dream. That tension became the heart of this film — a reminder that midlife isn’t an ending, but a late rebellion.

Developing this story with my daughter made it a dialogue between us about choice, freedom and the messy, unfinished nature of life. Through dark humor, I try to hold both the absurdity and the ache of being alive. I hope this film makes you laugh, feel a quiet sting in your chest, and leave with a little more courage to look at your own life again —

because she is not done yet.
